Replacement Flags

Replacement flags are printed fabric skins for existing flag pole systems. The product covers three flag formats - bow banner skins, teardrop banner skins, and rectangle banner skins - and is designed for one specific use case: refreshing the artwork on a flag display system you already own without buying new poles, bases, and hardware.

The fabric is knitted polyester printed using dye-sublimation - a heat-transfer process that bonds full-color dye directly into the polyester fibres rather than sitting as a layer on the surface. The result is graphics that will not peel, crack, or fade at the edges, with consistent color across the full flag face in outdoor light.

Two fabric options are available. Single-sided fabric at approximately 110-120gsm prints artwork on one face; some bleed-through to the reverse is normal and expected at this weight. Double-sided blockout at approximately 145gsm adds an opaque inner layer that eliminates bleed-through and supports independent artwork on each face. Replacement skins are fabric only - poles, bases, and carry bags are not included.

Choosing between single-sided and double-sided blockout fabric depends on how the flag will be used and whether reverse bleed-through is acceptable.

Single-sided fabric (~110-120gsm): Artwork is printed on one face. At this fabric weight, some of the print colour bleeds through to the reverse - the reverse will show a faded mirror of the front artwork rather than a plain fabric back. For flags displayed where only one face is visible - against a wall, along a fence line, or facing a single direction - single-sided is the cost-effective choice. The bleed-through is not visible from the intended viewing direction.

Double-sided blockout (~145gsm): An opaque inner layer between the two fabric faces blocks bleed-through entirely. Each face can carry independent artwork with no interference from the opposite side. Suited to freestanding flags visible from both sides - event entrances where foot traffic passes, booth flags positioned in the open, or any installation where both faces of the flag are within viewing range. The 145gsm weight is also slightly more substantial in the hand and in outdoor conditions.

Replacement flag skins are available in three flag formats:

• Teardrop banner skins - teardrop profile, suited to Paperlust teardrop pole hardware and compatible teardrop frame systems
• Rectangle banner skins - straight rectangular profile, suited to Paperlust rectangle banner pole hardware and compatible rectangular flag frames

Replacement skins ordered from Paperlust are guaranteed compatible with Paperlust original flag hardware. If you are using third-party pole hardware, contact the team to confirm compatibility before ordering.

Artwork requirements:

• Accepted formats: PDF, SVG, Adobe Illustrator (.ai or .eps)
• Minimum 100dpi resolution at final print size
• Vector artwork preferred; 5-10mm bleed on all edges required
• All fonts must be outlined or vectorized before export
• Supply any dieline in 100% Magenta Spot Colour on the top layer

Dieline templates for each flag format can be requested from the team before preparing artwork.

Replacement flag skins are produced in Australia. After artwork is submitted and the design proof is approved, production takes approximately 2-3 working days. Australian flat-rate shipping at $10 AUD is included, with metro delivery typically 1-2 business days after dispatch.
