Corporate Christmas Cards: What to Order and When

You are holding a list of 180 names in late November, and you are not sure whether anyone signed off the inside greeting. The artwork folder has three versions, the card design is still undecided, and the envelopes have not been discussed.

Ordering corporate Christmas cards is a small print job with five decisions, and each one is easier made early. Once you separate the format, the outside design, the inside message, the recipient names and the proof, the job stops feeling like a scramble.

This checklist walks through those decisions in the order they actually happen, from the folded A6 format to the timing for Australian orders.

The short version

  • Choose a catalogue design or prepare your own outside artwork, and note the design name before you send the order.
  • Settle the inside company name, logo and greeting before ordering, because inside printing is included at no extra cost.
  • If each card carries a different name, prepare one clean spreadsheet and check every client name.
  • Check every line of the PDF proof, because nothing prints until you approve it.
  • In Australia, order by 4 December 2026 for pre-Christmas delivery, and earlier for large quantities or custom artwork.

The corporate Christmas card ordering checklist

Business Christmas cards can look like a design task, but the order itself is a series of checkpoints. Use the table below to see what you need at each step and why it matters before the proof is sent.

StepWhat to have readyWhy it matters
Format and quantityConfirm the folded A6 card and a quantity of 50, 100, 250, 500 or 1,000, or ask about another quantity. The folded A6 at 105 x 148 mm is the only format, and the minimum order is 50 cards.
Outside designNote the catalogue design name or prepare your own artwork file for the outside. You can choose from 22 catalogue designs or upload your own.
Inside messageConfirm what goes inside before you place the order.Your branding and greeting print inside at no extra cost.
Recipient names, if personalisedSupply one clean spreadsheet with the details for Variable Name Printing. The cards print the data exactly as supplied, and every personalised card gets a quality check.
ProofHave the right person ready to read every line of the Christmas card proof.Nothing prints until you approve the PDF proof.
TimingFor Australian orders, order by 4 December 2026, and earlier for large quantities or custom outside artwork.Production takes 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, and delivery is separate.

Choosing the format and quantity

The format decision is simple because there is only one. The card is a folded A6, 105 x 148 mm when closed, and it can be ordered in portrait or landscape. Full colour printing runs on the outside, on a premium 300gsm board with a matte finish.

Quantity is the first real choice. The standard quantities are 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1,000 cards, and the minimum order is 50 cards. Other quantities are available on request. The cards are printed and produced in Australia and delivered Australia-wide.

Confirming the quantity early sets the production window and tells you how many envelopes and names the job will involve.

Choosing the outside design

The outside design comes from two places. You can choose one of 22 catalogue designs, or you can upload your own artwork for the outside. If you use the catalogue, note the design name and include it with your inside details when you order.

If you upload your own file, the team reviews it at proof stage and contacts you if it needs adjusting.

The design decision should be finished before the proof stage. Otherwise the proof becomes a design conversation, and the production clock has not even started.

Settling the inside message and printed signatures

Inside printing of your company identity and greeting, from the verse selection or a custom message you write, is included at no extra cost. That makes the inside a content decision, not a budget decision, but someone still needs to own the wording.

Have the greeting approved internally before the order is placed. The person proofreading is often not the person who wrote it, and the gap between a tentative sign-off and a final one is where time disappears. Printed signatures are accepted as supplied artwork, so if you want a signed style card, supply that file with the order.

The proof will show the branding, logo placement and greeting, but that is too late for a first approval. Treat the inside message as settled before it reaches the artwork file.

Personalising cards with recipient names

Personalised Christmas cards are where the spreadsheet becomes the brand. Variable Name Printing is optional, and each card can carry its own recipient name, greeting line or sign-off. Recipient details are supplied in a spreadsheet, and the proof includes a sample of the merged cards so you can see how they look before printing.

Each card has the same company name and greeting, with a different terracotta name on the right leaf.

Every personalised card gets an individual quality check, and a card affected by a data error on our side is reprinted free. That does not remove your side of the quality check. The cards print the names and words exactly as supplied, so checking the spreadsheet and the proof is your job. Read client names and company names in the spreadsheet before it is sent, because a misspelt client name will print exactly as typed.

One clean spreadsheet beats a folder of separate lists. If the same client appears twice under different names, or a company name is abbreviated in one row and spelled out in another, the proof will mirror that inconsistency. Fix the data before the file is supplied.

Proof, envelopes and Christmas timing

A PDF proof is emailed for approval, and no card goes to print until you approve it. The proof shows the artwork on the outside, the logo placement, the company name and the greeting. Treat the proof as the last place to catch a spelling error, a missing logo or a greeting that nobody actually approved.

Put the proof in front of the person who owns the client list, not just the person who placed the order. If you have used Variable Name Printing, compare each name in the merged sample against the spreadsheet line by line. The proof is the last chance to catch a transposed letter or an outdated company name before production starts, because the data prints as supplied.

Premium white envelopes are included, one per card, at no extra charge. The cards are produced in Australia and delivered Australia-wide. Production takes 3 to 5 business days from proof approval to despatch for 50 to 500 cards, and 5 to 7 business days for 1,000 cards. Delivery is then pickup, standard or express, chosen at checkout. Production time is not delivery time.

For Australian orders, order by 4 December 2026 for pre-Christmas delivery. For large quantities or custom outside artwork, order earlier to leave time for the proof. Many businesses aim for mid-November.
