Business Calendars: Wall or Desk, Quantities and Tips

The end of year client gift comes round the same time each year. Business calendars stay in view on every working day of the next year, so the choice is less about the calendar itself and more about where it will sit and who should receive it.

This guide walks through wall calendars or desk calendars for different clients, how many business calendars to order and the smallest orders, the logo and details line, ordering for clients in several states, and pairing a calendar with corporate Christmas cards.

The short version

  • A desk calendar suits desks and reception counters, with two 200 x 91mm sides and a starting quantity of 250.
  • A wall calendar suits an office wall, with an A4 size and 13 photos, starting from 25.
  • A logo plus a single details line can print on every month or along both sides.
  • Each order line carries one state’s 2027 public holidays.
  • A PDF proof comes before anything prints.
  • The product page shows the price for each quantity.

Business calendars: wall or desk for each client

The choice comes down to where the calendar will sit. Accountants, lawyers and other professional services usually work in a compact desk space. Builders, retailers and photographers with strong images often prefer a larger wall calendar. Corporate calendars and promotional calendars still need the right contact details without getting in the way of the dates.

Desk calendars for reception counters and client desks

The desk calendar starts as one A4 sheet printed in full colour on one side of 350gsm artboard, die cut and scored so it folds into a standing tent. The two sides are 200 x 91mm, with January to June on one side and July to December on the other. That keeps six months visible without covering the working part of a client desk or the sign in space at a reception counter.

Two layouts are available. The Photo each side layout uses two wide photos, one across the top of each side with its six months below. The Photo a month layout uses twelve small photos, one above each month, with six months on each side.

A strip along the foot of both sides can carry your business name, phone number and website beside your logo. Leave both out and the photos and months keep the space. On the desk calendars page, you can choose the layout and state, set the number of calendars, and the price shows as the options are chosen.

Wall calendars with 13 photos of your work, sites, team or region

The A4 wall calendar is a 210 x 297mm portrait calendar with 13 pages, a cover and one page for each month from January to December. It prints in full colour on one side of 150gsm gloss art paper, bound along the top edge with twin loop wire, with a hanger and a thumb notch so each page lifts and turns. It hangs on a nail or hook.

The wall calendar has a Classic layout, a Full bleed layout, a Framed layout and a Planner layout.

  • Classic keeps the month name and 2027 across the top, the photo in a large panel with a white margin, and a day grid with a coloured row of day names.
  • Full bleed runs the photo edge to edge across the top 167mm of the page, with the month name and grid below on white, and the cover photo fills the whole cover with 2027 across the top.
  • Framed sits the photo in a white mount on a warm off white page, with the month name in an italic serif below and a fine line grid.
  • Planner uses a shorter photo across the top, puts the month name and 2027 in a coloured band, and gives the largest day boxes of the four layouts with room to write appointments.

At the Upload Artwork step, upload one ZIP file, or paste a shared folder link in the details box. Send 13 photos, a cover and one for each month, and name them cover, then January to December or 01 to 12. Landscape photos suit the month pages, and full size photos straight from a phone or camera print well. A logo goes in the same ZIP as a file named logo. The team checks every photo’s resolution before the proof and flags any photo that will print soft.

On every month page and the cover, the footer can hold an optional logo and one details line. Leave both out and the photo and grid keep the space. Pick the options you need on the wall calendars product page.

How many to order and what the smallest orders mean

Start with the people who will actually use the calendar. Count the clients you see or talk to regularly, then add reception counters, meeting rooms and team desks. Include a few spares for clients who join during the year and for calendars that get damaged or moved.

Wall calendars can be ordered in quantities of 25, 50, 100, 250, 500 or 1000, and the smallest order is 25. Desk calendars come in quantities of 250, 500 or 1000, with a starting quantity of 250. Promotional calendars for a broad list are easier to plan once you know the entry quantity for the format.

As you choose the quantity on the product page, the page shows the total for that quantity. On each calendar the price per calendar is lower at bigger quantities, so a larger order is not simply the same cost multiplied out.

Clients in several states: which state holidays to print

Each calendar order line carries one state or territory, and the calendar marks that state’s state wide public holidays for 2027 from the Fair Work Ombudsman list. The weeks start on Sunday, and the wall and desk calendars show a key on each page or side.

If your clients sit in more than one state, pick the state where most of the calendars will hang or be used. To cover another state, add a separate order line for that state. Every added order line still needs to reach the calendar’s minimum quantity, so adding a second state is simpler for a wall calendar than for a desk calendar.

The holiday set does not include regional or local holidays, the evening part day holidays on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, Easter Tuesday in Tasmania, Victoria’s Friday before the AFL Grand Final, or school holidays.

Pairing business calendars with corporate Christmas cards and other client gifts

A calendar works all year, while a card carries the year end message. You can order corporate Christmas cards with your business logo printed inside and envelopes included, and send the card and the calendar out together.

If you are still choosing the wider gift, the corporate Christmas gifts guide compares mugs, bottles, cards and vouchers for a team and for clients. A calendar sits neatly beside those client gifts because it does a different job.

Planning time starts with the needed by date, not the order date. The clock starts when you approve the PDF proof, and the product page shows the current production and delivery details for the calendar you choose. At checkout, write the date the calendars are needed in the Special Request box.

For a side by side look at the wall, desk and fridge magnet options, our calendar printing in Australia guide covers price, photos, holidays and timing. The printed calendars category page lists each format with its own product page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I order calendars for clients in different states?

Yes. Each calendar order line picks one state or territory, and the calendar marks that state’s 2027 state wide public holidays from the Fair Work Ombudsman list. If your clients are spread across different states, choose the state where most of the calendars will hang or be used. To cover another state, add a separate order line for that state, and remember that each added line still needs to reach the lowest quantity for that calendar.

Can my logo go on every page?

Yes, within the space each format provides. On the wall calendar, a logo and a line of contact details sit in the footer of every month page and the cover. On the desk calendar, a logo and one line of details print in a strip along the foot of both sides. If you leave the logo and details line out, the photos, months and grid keep the space.

What is the smallest order for business calendars?

The wall calendar starts at 25 calendars, in quantities of 25, 50, 100, 250, 500 or 1000. The desk calendar starts at 250 calendars, in quantities of 250, 500 or 1000. Every order line needs to reach the format’s opening quantity, so a desk calendar order cannot start at 25, and a wall calendar order does not need to reach 250.

Is a wall calendar the same price as a desk calendar?

They are separate products with separate product pages, and each page shows its own price as you choose the options. The page displays the total for each quantity, and the price per calendar is lower at bigger quantities on each calendar. Check the product page for the layout, state and quantity you are considering.

Do I see the calendar before it prints?

Yes. Every calendar order gets a PDF proof by email before printing, and nothing prints until you approve the proof. The proof is where you check the photo order, the state holidays, the logo and the details line. Production timing starts after that proof approval, not when the order is placed.

When will the calendars arrive?

The arrival date depends on the calendar you choose and when you approve the proof. The timing starts after you approve the PDF proof, and the product page shows the current production and delivery details. At checkout, put the date you need the calendars in the Special Request box.
