A-Frame Signs
A-frame signs are the reusable footpath signs you see outside cafes, salons, clinics and open homes. Each one is a black powder-coated steel frame that holds two printed 5mm corflute panels, one on each face, so the sign reads from both directions. The panels slide into the frame channels and lift out again by hand, no tools.
Use it wherever you need a freestanding sign that works without a wall. It suits daily footpath promotion, specials boards, open homes, events and markets, or any spot where a sign needs to be moved, folded flat and stored at the end of the day.
Order it three ways: as the complete sign with a frame and two printed panels, as panels only for a frame you already own or as replacement panels, or as a frame only with no print. Every order is printed in Melbourne.
Specification
- Panel size: 600 x 900mm (standard) or 900 x 1200mm
- Panels: 5mm corflute, full colour, printed on both faces
- Frame: black powder-coated steel, fold-flat, slide-in panel channels
- Order as: frame with 2 printed panels, 2 printed panels only, or frame only
- Production: 24 Hour Production after proof approval (proof approved by 2pm Melbourne)
- Full-colour panels: Both faces are printed in full colour, so one design on both sides or a different design on each side looks equally sharp.
- Two size options: Choose the standard 600 x 900 mm panel or the larger 900 x 1200 mm size for forecourts and car parks.
- Weather-ready panels: The 5mm corflute panels are waterproof and UV-resistant, printed for 12 to 18 months of continuous outdoor display.
- No-tools panel swaps: Panels slide in and out of the frame by hand, and the frame folds flat for carrying and storage.
- Quantity discounts: Larger orders qualify for a quantity discount, which helps when you are rolling signs out across several locations.
- Reusable panels: The steel frame lasts for years, and only the printed panels need to be replaced.
- Independent faces: You can run a separate design on each face, and the second face costs no more.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 600 x 900 mm the panel size or the frame size?
600 x 900 mm is the panel size. The black steel frame is slightly larger than the panel, so it leaves a lip around the edge.
How do I change the panels?
Each printed panel slides into the frame channels and lifts out again by hand. No tools are needed, so you can swap panels whenever the promotion changes.
How do I weight an A-frame sign in the wind?
Place a sandbag or similar weight on the base of the frame in windy spots. Bringing the sign inside overnight also helps it stay in good condition.
Do I need council permission for a footpath sign?
Check your local council's footpath trading rules or permit requirements before placing a sign on a public footpath.
Can I order replacement panels without buying another frame?
Yes. Order two printed panels only, and they will fit our frame or any standard insert-style A-frame that takes a 600 x 900 mm panel of 5mm corflute. If your frame is the larger size, choose 900 x 1200 mm panels.
Can I order the frame only?
Yes. The frame only option gives you a blank black steel frame with no print, so you can add panels later.
Does a different design on each side cost extra?
No. The two faces are printed independently, so a different design on each side costs nothing extra.
Are the panels waterproof and how long do they last outdoors?
Yes. The 5mm corflute panels are waterproof, UV-resistant and tear-resistant. In temperate Australian conditions, the printed panel lasts 12 to 18 months of continuous outdoor display.
Will an existing 600 x 900 mm corflute panel fit this frame?
A 600 x 900 mm corflute panel fits if it is 5mm thick and made for a standard insert-style A-frame. Our frame takes that exact panel size.
What is the 900 x 1200 mm size for?
The 900 x 1200 mm panel is the larger option for forecourts, car parks and places where the sign needs more presence from a distance. The frame is slightly larger than the panel, just like the standard size.

A-frame signs are the standard Australian footpath sign
An A-frame sign, also called a sandwich board or A-board, is a black steel frame holding two printed 600 x 900 mm corflute panels. One panel sits on each face, so the sign reads from both directions. That twin-sided format makes it the standard Australian footpath sign for cafes, retail shops, salons, clinics, gyms, real estate open homes, events and markets, and tradies who need a sign outside a job. For forecourts and car parks, a larger 900 x 1200 mm panel option gives extra presence.
Three ways to order, two panel sizes
You can order the complete sign as a black steel frame with two printed panels, ready to stand. If you already own a compatible insert frame, order two printed panels only as replacement panels or a fresh campaign. You can also order the frame only as a blank frame and add panels later. Both sizes, 600 x 900 mm and 900 x 1200 mm, use 5mm corflute stock. A different design on each side costs nothing extra. For flat printed panels in other sizes, the corflute signs range includes A1, A2 and A3 options.
Which A-frame suits you
Three A-frame types sit side by side in the range.
- The frameless folding corflute A-frame is the lightest and cheapest option, best for short campaigns and events. It is a single scored sheet of corflute with no metal frame.
- This steel frame with 5mm corflute panels is heavier and stays put more reliably. The panels slide out for years of reuse, which makes it the workhorse for a shopfront or cafe.
- The real estate A-frame uses the 600 x 450 mm agency format and comes in a white or black frame. It is the familiar open home and auction sign, sized for quick placement outside a property.
Built for the footpath
The black powder-coated steel frame folds flat for carrying and storage, and the 5mm corflute panels are waterproof and UV-resistant. In temperate Australian conditions, a printed panel lasts 12 to 18 months of continuous outdoor display. The frame itself lasts for years, so you only swap the panels when the promotion changes. On the footpath, place a sandbag on the base in windy spots, face the sign at an angle to the flow of foot traffic so both faces are read, and bring it inside overnight. Before placing any sign on a public footpath, check your local council's footpath trading rules or permit requirements.
Artwork, proofing, production and delivery
Supply artwork as a PDF, SVG or Adobe Illustrator file with 3mm bleed, fonts outlined and images embedded. Keep logos, text and phone numbers 20 mm in from the panel edge, because the frame lip covers roughly that margin. We email a design proof and nothing prints until you approve it. Once the proof is approved by 2pm Melbourne time, 24-hour production applies. Everything is printed in Melbourne. Delivery is flat-rate Australia-wide, or you can collect free from Oakleigh South, Victoria. Signage is delivered within Australia only. For the wider range, browse the A-frames and sandwich boards category.
