What sizes, page counts and bindings are available for booklet printing?
For saddle stitched, A5 is 148 x 210 mm, A4 is 210 x 297 mm and DL is 99 x 210 mm. A5 and A4 can be upright or sideways, while DL is portrait only, and pages run 8 to 56. Wire bound offers A4 and A5 with 12 to 100 pages, and perfect bound offers A4 and A5 with 36 to 100 pages. For every binding, the cover counts as four of those pages.
How much does booklet printing cost?
Pricing changes with size, page count, quantity and cover choices. As a guide, 100 A5 booklets with 8 pages appear at a total of $206.87, and 100 A4 booklets with 8 pages appear at $286.60. All prices include GST and are drawn from the live price list captured on 30 September 2026, so the product page shows current totals as you choose options. Standard Australia Post shipping is $10 per order.
Why do the pages go up in fours and does the cover count?
Each folded sheet adds four printed pages, so the available totals move in increments of four. Because the cover is itself a folded sheet, it contributes four pages to the count: an 8 page booklet breaks down into 4 cover pages plus 4 inside pages, and a 16 page booklet into 4 cover pages plus 12 inside pages. Saddle stitched booklets run from 8 to 56 printed pages, wire bound booklets from 12 to 100, and perfect bound booklets from 36 to 100, with the cover always included.
Which paper and cover should I choose?
Saddle stitched booklets offer inside pages in 128gsm matte, 150gsm matte, 113gsm gloss or 150gsm gloss. Their covers are 150gsm gloss, 150gsm matte, 250gsm gloss or 250gsm matte, and only the 250gsm covers can be laminated, in gloss or matte. The lighter stocks are not laminated. The Wire-O and glued spine ranges add 120gsm uncoated inside stock, use 250gsm covers, and offer none, gloss, matte or velvet lamination.
How long do booklets take?
After you order, a person checks the file and a digital proof is emailed within 1 to 2 business days. For saddle stitched booklets, production runs for 3 to 7 working days after proof approval, and your order leaves one business day after production finishes. Express StarTrack costs $15 per order, with metro and regional windows shown at checkout. If you need a specific date, note it in the Special Request box and we will confirm whether it can be met. Peak periods can add time, and no delivery date is guaranteed.
What is the minimum order and how does delivery work?
Every booklet has a minimum order of 10 copies, with further choices of 25, 50, 75, 100, 250, 500 and 1,000, and perfect bound booklets also offer a 2,000 copy option. Standard Australia Post costs $10 per order and runs 2 to 5 business days in metro areas or 4 to 6 business days regionally after dispatch. Express StarTrack costs $15 per order and runs 1 to 2 business days in metro areas or 3 to 5 business days regionally. Pickup is available at no charge from 23 Manton Road, Oakleigh South VIC 3167, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Booklet Printing Australia
When you need a run of booklets printed and want a clear price before you commit, Paperlust keeps the numbers in view from the first click. Our Australian online print shop makes booklet printing easier by showing the live total while you choose the size, pages, stock and quantity, so you can compare the cost of a short run against a long one without waiting for a quote.
Order A5, A4 or DL booklets in our saddle stitched range, with 8 to 56 printed pages and a minimum order of 10 copies. Wire bound and perfect bound booklets are also available online in A4 and A5, with page counts up to 100. Prices update instantly as you change the options. The cheapest configuration on the live list totals $125.45 for 10 A5 booklets, while a longer run can bring the per copy figure down to $0.55.
Booklets by size and trim
We keep booklet sizing straightforward across three trim options, each shown below with the measurements, orientations and a live price example.
A5 booklets
A5 booklets trim to 148 x 210 mm and can be ordered as a portrait or landscape layout. The format suits programs, catalogues, menus and guides that need to feel substantial without being bulky.
A 100 copy A5 job with 8 pages totals $206.87 on the A5 booklets page, where the live price updates as you choose pages and stock.
A4 booklets
A4 booklets trim to 210 x 297 mm and work in either orientation. They give breathing room for reports, catalogues, company profiles and school magazines.
An 8 page A4 run of 100 copies lists at $286.60 in the cheapest configuration on the A4 booklets page, before you select heavier cover stocks.
DL booklets
DL booklets trim to 99 x 210 mm and run portrait only. The slim shape works well for menus, price lists and pocket guides.
A DL booklet of 8 pages and 100 copies appears at $206.80 on the DL booklets page, where options update the total instantly.
Saddle stitched booklets explained
Our A5, A4 and DL booklets are saddle stitched, with a staple placed through the fold where the sheets meet. Because a single folded sheet creates four pages, the only page totals available are multiples of four from 8 to 56 printed pages. Each cover sheet is folded the same way, so it adds four printed surfaces: outside front, inside front, inside back and outside back.
The layout can run either upright or sideways, depending on the format, and the number you pick is the total printed sides rather than internal sheets.
Wire-O binding and perfect binding are now sold online and the next section covers them. Plastic coil binding and hardcover remain off the online range and go through a custom quote on our contact form. Our saddle stitch guide explains how the folded sheets sit and where the staples fall.
Wire bound and perfect bound booklets
The wire bound booklets range uses Wire-O, twin wire loops through punched holes, so pages open flat. Workbooks, training manuals and recipe books suit this style, with A4 and A5 portrait sizes, 12 to 100 pages and black or white wire. Prices start at $257.97 for 10 A5 copies.
The perfect bound booklets range glues pages into a square spine with PUR adhesive, and one printed cover wraps the whole book so the spine is printed too. This suits catalogues, annual reports, yearbooks and guides, with 36 to 100 pages and quantities to 2,000. Prices start at $321.02 for 10 A5 copies.
Choose saddle stitched for 8 to 56 pages, Wire-O for pages that open flat, or the glued square spine for a shelf-ready edge. Both newer bindings offer 120gsm uncoated inside stock, use 250gsm covers, and add velvet lamination along with gloss or matte.
Paper and cover stock for booklets
Inside pages for saddle stitched booklets are available in four stocks: 128gsm matte, 150gsm matte, 113gsm gloss and 150gsm gloss. Matte pages suit text-heavy reading because they feel calm and reduce glare, while gloss pages help photos and high-detail images look brighter and more saturated. Choose the inside stock that matches how your booklets will be read.
| Cover stock | Finish | Lamination | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| 150gsm gloss | Gloss | Not laminated | A lighter gloss choice for modest runs of event programs, price lists and smaller booklets |
| 150gsm matte | Matte | Not laminated | A lighter matte option suited to event programs, menus and guides |
| 250gsm gloss | Gloss | Gloss or matte lamination available | A heavier gloss option that suits product catalogues and presentation booklets |
| 250gsm matte | Matte | Gloss or matte lamination available | A heavier matte option for reports, company profiles and catalogues |
For saddle stitched booklets, only the two 250gsm cover stocks can be laminated, and you can choose a gloss or matte finish for the laminate. The 150gsm cover stocks are not laminated. The choice comes down to how much handling the front and back will get.
Booklet printing cost and price drivers
The per copy price falls as the quantity rises, and the figures below show how the same page count changes across formats. A DL booklet of 8 pages in a run of 1,000 copies lists at a total of $546.81, while an A5 booklet with 8 pages at 100 copies totals $206.87. For an A4 job, 100 copies with 16 pages sits at $447.25, and 1,000 A5 booklets with 8 pages comes to $711.89.
Page count, quantity, size, cover stock and lamination all move the final figure, and the per copy cost falls as the quantity rises. Every figure includes GST and is drawn from the live price list captured on 30 September 2026, so the product page may show a different current total as you choose options. Delivery is charged per order at $10 for standard Australia Post or $15 for StarTrack express, and the cost is added at checkout. Our A5 booklet printing cost guide breaks down how page count and quantity choices affect the total for A5 jobs.
Custom booklets for every brief
Custom booklets take many forms in our print queue. Most orders fall into a few familiar jobs: product catalogues, event programs and order of service booklets, school yearbooks and magazines, menus, reports and guides.
- Product catalogues
- Event programs and order of service booklets
- School yearbooks and magazines
- Menus, price lists and pocket guides
- Company profiles and reports
Each format works a little differently. A product catalogue benefits from gloss inside pages and a laminated 250gsm cover, while a slim DL menu can stay light and easy to hand around. If you are creating a catalogue, start with our catalogue printing guide. For occasions, our event program resource explains page planning, and schools can get guidance in our yearbook article.
Artwork setup and the proof step
Upload a print-ready PDF, SVG or Adobe Illustrator file with 3mm bleed on every edge and keep text and important elements at least 3mm inside the trim. Outline all fonts and embed images at 300dpi so nothing shifts when the file is processed. After you order, a person checks every file before printing and a digital proof is emailed within 1 to 2 business days of the order, and the proof costs nothing extra.
Production for saddle stitched booklets takes 3 to 7 working days after proof approval. Once production is complete, your order goes out the following business day, and a tracking code is emailed. If you need your booklets by a certain date, write it in the Special Request box at checkout and our team will reply whether it can be met. When the production queue has room, urgent jobs move to the front, but peak periods can add time. The production window is an estimate, courier hold-ups sit outside our control, and no delivery date is guaranteed. Design help can be selected in the cart before checkout: Artwork Fix edits an existing file through scaling, cropping, adding text, logos and images, or re-arranging the layout, while Custom Design pairs you with a professional designer, two design options and three rounds of revision.
Every booklet order includes a file check by a real person before anything goes to print.
A digital proof is prepared and emailed once the file has been checked, and nothing is printed until you approve it.
The Perfect Print Promise covers print faults for 30 days from dispatch. If there is a print problem, contact us and the order is reprinted at no charge. If you approve a typo on the proof, the cost of correcting it is shared.
Delivery or pickup is arranged after production, with standard and express options available across Australia.
Delivery and pickup options
Once production finishes, your order leaves on the next weekday once production is complete and a tracking code is emailed. The standard Australia Post option costs $10 per order, with delivery taking 2 to 5 business days metro or 4 to 6 business days regional after dispatch. StarTrack express costs $15 per order, with delivery taking 1 to 2 business days metro or 3 to 5 business days regional after dispatch. International delivery costs $35 per order and takes 2 to 4 business days.
Pickup is available at no charge from 23 Manton Road, Oakleigh South VIC 3167, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. For saddle stitched booklets, production runs for 3 to 7 working days once the proof is approved, so the delivery window begins after that stage rather than at checkout. When you plan your order, work backwards from the day you need the booklets in hand, because the print stage and the delivery stage each take their own time.
