Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between corflute and foam board?

Corflute is corrugated polypropylene plastic — waterproof, UV-resistant, and suitable for outdoor use. Foam board (Foamcore) is a foam-filled cardboard sandwich — not weatherproof. Foam board is for indoor display only; corflute is the right material for any outdoor A-frame application.

Can I use your corflute inserts in my existing A-frame stand?

Most likely yes, provided your stand takes a 600x900mm insert (the industry standard). Measure the internal insert opening of your frame before ordering to confirm. If your frame takes a non-standard size, contact our team with the dimensions and we can produce inserts to fit.

How long will corflute A-frame inserts last outdoors?

5mm corflute inserts printed with UV inks typically maintain good quality for 12-18 months of continuous outdoor display in temperate Australian climates. In high-UV environments, lifespan is shorter. 3mm inserts are better suited to short-term or frequent-swap use.

Can I order just inserts without an A-frame stand?

Yes. If you already own A-frame stands and just need fresh inserts, inserts-only is the most common order type.

Can I get different designs on each side of the same insert?

Yes — double-sided inserts can carry independent artwork on each face. Many customers use this to communicate different messages to pedestrians approaching from opposite directions.

Do you print on 5mm corflute as well as 3mm?

Yes. Both 3mm and 5mm corflute are available. Choose 5mm for semi-permanent outdoor display; 3mm for short-term or frequently swapped inserts.

Can you do custom sizes?

Yes. If your A-frame stand takes a non-standard insert size, contact our team with your frame dimensions and we will produce inserts to fit.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Low minimum orders apply. Volume pricing is available for larger quantities — contact our team for a custom quote.

Can you match specific Pantone or brand colours?

Our UV-direct printing produces highly accurate colour reproduction from CMYK files. For strict Pantone matching, supply the Pantone reference in your brief and our team will calibrate output as closely as our system allows.

How should I store corflute inserts between uses?

Store inserts flat and stacked in a dry location away from direct sunlight. Avoid stacking under heavy weights that could bow or crease the corflute.

Do you supply the A-frame metal stands as well as inserts?

Yes — complete kits (stand plus printed inserts) are available. If you need stands only, contact our team for options and pricing.

Is corflute recyclable?

Corflute is made from polypropylene (plastic type 5) and is recyclable through appropriate streams. Check with your local council recycling programme for accepted materials, as kerb-side recycling rules vary by municipality.

How long does production take?

We offer fast production as our standard. However, production times may vary depending on order volume and complexity. Please refer to the estimated timelines below:

  • Banners: 2-3 working days
  • A-Frames & Sandwich Boards: 3-4 working days
  • Signage & Panels: 3-4 working days
  • Window & Floor Graphics: 3-4 working days
  • Magnets & Large Stickers: 3-4 working days
  • Posters & Promotional Materials: 3-4 working days

These estimates apply after your design proof is approved. While we strive to complete orders within promised timeline, production times may extend slightly during peak periods.

What format should I provide my artwork to you in?

File Type

We prefer artwork in PDF, SVG and Adobe Illustrator formats. Please add 3mm bleed and crop marks whenever possible.

Fonts & Artworks

Make sure all fonts are outlined/vectorized, and all images/artwork embedded.

Dieline

Dieline needs to be in 100% Magenta Spot Colour and placed on the top layer.

Will I receive a design proof before it's printed?

Yes we will send a final design proof to your email. We will not proceed to print until we receive your design approval.

Custom Corflute A-Frame Signs Printed in Australia

Corflute A-frame signs are double-sided, lightweight, weatherproof inserts printed on 3mm or 5mm corrugated polypropylene (corflute) and displayed in reusable metal A-frame stands. They are the most popular portable signage format in Australia for footpath promotions, retail displays, real estate open homes, hospitality specials, and event wayfinding. At Paperlust Print Shop, we print corflute A-frame inserts in full colour using UV-direct printing, with fast 2-3 working day production and Australia-wide delivery.

What Is Corflute?

Corflute (also written corriflute or correx) is a twin-wall corrugated plastic sheet made from polypropylene. The internal flute structure gives it rigidity and weather resistance while keeping it extremely lightweight — a standard 600x900mm corflute insert weighs around 500-600g. Corflute is waterproof, UV-resistant, and resistant to most common chemicals. It does not swell, warp, or delaminate in rain or humidity like cardboard or MDF alternatives. The industry-standard brand in Australia is Corex, manufactured domestically with enhanced UV inhibitors designed for Australian outdoor conditions.

3mm vs. 5mm Corflute — Which Should You Choose?

3mm corflute is lighter and more flexible — ideal for inserts that are frequently swapped, transported, or stored flat in a stack. It is the most common choice for short-term promotions, market signage, and events. 5mm corflute is stiffer and more robust — it resists flex and bowing over longer periods of outdoor display. This is the right choice for semi-permanent installations like real estate directional signage, worksite safety notices, and retail displays that stay in the A-frame for weeks or months at a time. Both thicknesses are fully weatherproof. If in doubt, choose 5mm for anything intended to stay outdoors continuously.

Standard Sizes for Corflute A-Frame Inserts

The most common standard size for Australian corflute A-frame inserts is 600mm x 900mm. This fits the vast majority of metal A-frame stands sold in Australia. A second common size is 900mm x 1200mm, used in larger Slimline-style frames that are popular for hospitality and events. Always measure your A-frame opening before ordering to confirm the correct insert dimensions — frame sizes are not universally standardised. If you need a custom size, contact our team with your frame dimensions and we can produce inserts to fit.

Single-Sided vs. Double-Sided Printing

Standard corflute A-frame inserts are printed on both sides — one face per side of the A-frame. This is the most common configuration, allowing your message to be read by pedestrians approaching from either direction. For applications where the sign will only be viewed from one side, single-sided printing reduces cost. Note that corflute A-frames are designed for two-sided inserts; single-sided inserts can also be used but the reverse will show blank white corflute.

Real Estate A-Frame Signs

Corflute A-frame inserts are the backbone of real estate street-level marketing in Australia. Open home directional arrows are printed on corflute and inserted into portable A-frame stands placed at every intersection on the route from the main road to the property. Auction day signage uses large-format A-frames to direct buyers from surrounding streets. Agency branding inserts keep the agent’s name and contact details visible at the property during the listing period. Corflute is the right material for real estate A-frames because it survives early-morning dew, mid-summer heat, and being handled roughly by staff in a hurry.

Hospitality and Food & Beverage A-Frame Signs

Hospitality businesses — cafes, restaurants, pubs, and takeaway shops — are among the highest-volume users of corflute A-frame inserts in Australia. Daily specials boards, weekend brunch menus, happy hour promotions, and new seasonal beverage announcements all benefit from professionally printed corflute rather than handwritten chalkboards. Printed corflute presents a consistent, brand-aligned message at footpath level where passing trade makes the decision to walk in.

Events, Markets & Festival A-Frame Signage

Outdoor markets, fairs, and festivals use corflute A-frames extensively for exhibitor identification, wayfinding, entry points, food stall menus, and sponsor recognition. Corflute is ideal for events because it is lightweight (volunteers can carry and set up the signage without equipment), weatherproof (morning dew and light rain will not damage the inserts), and affordable enough to produce fresh inserts for each event rather than dragging worn, faded signs out of storage.

Retail Sidewalk Promotions and Sale Signage

Retailers use corflute A-frames at storefront to capture footpath traffic. Sale announcements, new product arrivals, loyalty programme sign-ups, and seasonal promotions are all standard A-frame applications. A professionally printed A-frame insert draws passing pedestrians’ attention in a way that a handwritten sign cannot. For multi-location retailers, a standardised A-frame insert design ensures consistent brand presentation across all stores.

Tradies and Construction Site A-Frame Signs

Building contractors, plumbers, electricians, and other tradies use corflute A-frames as worksite safety notices, site identification signs, and lead generation tools. Safety signage on a 5mm corflute insert in an A-frame is highly visible, portable, and survives the rough-and-tumble of a construction site far better than paper-based alternatives. Many tradies also place branded A-frames at the kerb while working — a low-cost outdoor advertising opportunity that generates enquiries from neighbours watching a job in progress.

Durability: How Long Do Corflute A-Frame Inserts Last Outdoors?

Under normal Australian outdoor conditions, a 5mm corflute insert printed with UV-direct inks will maintain good print quality for 12-18 months of continuous outdoor display. In harsh UV environments (north-facing displays in Queensland or Western Australia, or high-altitude locations), expect 9-12 months before noticeable fade. Short-term or event-use inserts (days to weeks) will look perfect regardless of conditions.

Corflute A-Frames vs. Officeworks: What Is the Difference?

Officeworks sells off-the-shelf A-frame kits starting at around $110 per unit (frame + DIY insert). The insert quality is designed for in-store printing — limited colour range, standard templates, and no professional design support. Paperlust Print Shop produces professionally printed corflute inserts with full-colour UV-direct printing, sharp photographic detail, and the option to bring your own artwork or brief our design team. Our pricing per insert is significantly lower than Officeworks for any order of more than a few units, and the output quality is not comparable.

Turnaround and Delivery

Standard production is 2-3 working days after artwork approval. Delivery to Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide metro areas is typically 1-2 business days after dispatch. Perth and regional areas allow 2-4 business days. If you have a tight deadline, contact our team before ordering to discuss availability.

Other Outdoor Signage Options

Corflute A-frames are the practical choice for pavement signage, directional wayfinding, real estate forecourts, and outdoor applications where a freestanding, weather-resistant structure needs to move and reposition easily. When a fixed or fabric-based format better fits the install, the full range is available. PVC signs offer a rigid, permanent alternative for fence and wall mounts built for long-term outdoor exposure. Rectangle banners are the standard for flat backdrop and shopfront displays.

Polyester banners suit longer-run indoor and outdoor campaigns where fabric print quality matters. For large-format outdoor installs on a short timeline, vinyl banners are the cost-effective route. When vertical presence at a roadside or entrance is the goal, bow banners and teardrop banners add movement and height on a pole system. For full event backdrops at activations, conferences, or sponsor walls, a stretch fabric media wall delivers a seamless freestanding fabric display.
