Frequently Asked Questions
What size are election signs in Australia?

The most common size is 600mm x 900mm, specified as the maximum for public land signage in many Australian state and local council jurisdictions. Larger formats are available for private property installations where local rules permit. Always check the specific rules for your campaign area.

Do election signs need an authorisation statement?

Yes — Australian electoral law requires all election material to carry an authorisation statement identifying who authorised the material and for whom it was produced. Check the relevant electoral commission website for the exact wording requirements for your campaign.

What corflute thickness is best for election signs?

3mm corflute is the most common choice for standard election campaigns of 4-12 weeks. It is lighter, lower cost, and adequate for the display period. 5mm is better for longer campaigns, large-format signs, or high-wind exposure locations.

How many signs do I need for a local council campaign?

As a rough guide, 100-200 signs creates genuine street presence in a typical suburban local council ward. Concentrate signs in high-traffic positions rather than spreading thinly across every street. Quality of placement matters more than raw quantity.

Can you produce signs with eyelets for fence mounting?

Yes — we can punch eyelets into your signs at production. Specify the eyelet positions (top corners, all four corners, etc.) when placing your order.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Low minimum orders apply. We can accommodate smaller orders for local candidates and offer volume pricing for bulk campaign orders. Contact us for a custom quote on orders of 50 or more units.

Are corflute election signs recyclable?

Yes. Corflute is polypropylene (PP), a recyclable plastic. Australian-made Corex-brand corflute has a certified recycling programme. Contact our team for current recycling programme information in your state.

Can you match our party colours exactly?

Our UV-direct printing produces highly accurate CMYK colour reproduction. Supply your party colour values as CMYK (or Pantone references for conversion) in your artwork. For critical colour matching, request a proof print before approving the full run.

Can you produce signs in custom sizes outside the standard 600x900mm?

Yes. Custom sizes up to 2400mm x 1200mm are available. Contact our team with your required dimensions for a quote.

What happens if my signs arrive with a print defect?

Our 100% print guarantee covers every order. If your signs arrive with a print defect, contact our team and we will reprint at no cost.

What format should I provide my artwork to you in?

File Type

We prefer artwork in PDF, SVG and Adobe Illustrator formats. Please add 3mm bleed and crop marks whenever possible.

Fonts & Artworks

Make sure all fonts are outlined/vectorized, and all images/artwork embedded.

Dieline

Dieline needs to be in 100% Magenta Spot Colour and placed on the top layer.

Will I receive a design proof before it's printed?

Yes we will send a final design proof to your email. We will not proceed to print until we receive your design approval.

Corflute Election Signs Printed in Australia

Corflute election signs are the standard format for political and community campaign signage across Australia. Lightweight, weatherproof, and highly visible, they are produced on 3mm or 5mm corrugated polypropylene (corflute) using UV-direct full-colour printing. At Paperlust Print Shop, we print election signs for local council candidates, state and federal campaigns, union campaigns, community advocacy groups, and independent candidates — with fast 2-3 working day production, bulk pricing, and Australia-wide delivery.

Standard Election Sign Sizes in Australia

The most common election sign size in Australia is 600mm x 900mm. For signs displayed on public land, many state and local council regulations specify 600mm x 900mm as the maximum permitted size. Signs on private property (with owner consent) may use larger formats — 900mm x 1200mm is a popular size for high-visibility private fence and gate displays. Custom sizes up to 2400mm x 1200mm are available from Paperlust Print Shop. Always check your state and local council signage rules before ordering — regulations vary significantly by jurisdiction and campaign type.

3mm vs. 5mm Corflute for Election Signs

3mm corflute is lighter and lower cost — ideal for high-volume campaigns where you need hundreds of signs at the lowest possible per-unit cost, or for signs that will be displayed for a few weeks. 5mm corflute is stiffer and more robust — better for signs intended for extended outdoor display over a campaign period of several months, or for sites exposed to wind and traffic vibration. For most standard election campaigns of 4-12 weeks, 3mm corflute is the practical choice.

Installation Options for Election Signs

Corflute election signs are designed for versatile installation. Common methods include: H-frame wire stakes pushed into grass verges or garden beds; cable ties to chain-link or Cyclone fencing; screws or nails into wooden fences and gates (with property owner permission); rope or zip ties to balcony railings; and eyelets punched through the corflute for hanging or tying. Paperlust Print Shop can punch eyelets into your signs at production — specify your preferred eyelet positions when ordering.

Design Requirements and Artwork for Election Signs

Election signs are read at a glance from passing vehicles and pedestrians. Effective design keeps to a few simple principles: one clear focal point (candidate name or campaign slogan); high-contrast colour combination; large, bold typeface — minimum 20% of sign height for the primary message; party or campaign logo in a consistent position; and a clear party colour scheme. Avoid cluttering the sign with too many messages.

Bulk Ordering and Volume Pricing

Election campaigns typically require hundreds to thousands of signs. Paperlust Print Shop offers significant volume discounts on bulk corflute sign orders. Contact our team for a custom quote on orders of 50 or more units. For large campaigns, we can also arrange staged delivery — dispatching signs to multiple electorate or zone addresses on a schedule aligned with your campaign rollout.

Turnaround Time and Delivery

Standard production is 2-3 working days after artwork approval. Delivery to metro Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide is typically 1-2 business days after dispatch. Perth and regional areas allow 2-4 business days. For campaign-critical deadlines, contact our team before ordering to discuss production availability.

Sustainability and Recycling of Corflute Election Signs

Corflute election signs are made from polypropylene (PP), a recyclable plastic. The industry-standard Corex brand used in Australia is manufactured domestically with a closed-loop recycling programme — used corflute can be returned to Corex-certified collection points and processed back into raw material for new sheets.

State-by-State Signage Rules — What to Check

Election signage rules in Australia vary significantly between states, territories, and local council jurisdictions. Always check your state electoral commission website and local council signage policy before ordering and installing. Paperlust Print Shop does not provide legal advice on election signage rules.

Authorisation Statements on Election Signs

Australian electoral law requires that all election signs carry an authorisation statement identifying who authorised the material and for whom it was produced. Ensure your authorisation statement is included in your artwork before submitting for print. This is the candidate’s or campaign manager’s legal responsibility to verify.

Trusted by Australian Campaigns

Paperlust Print Shop has produced election signage for candidates and campaigns at local, state, and federal levels across Australia. A 100% print guarantee covers every order.
