Duplex Swing Tags
Duplex swing tags bond two sheets of card face to face into one heavier tag, with a stock chosen for each face. Each face is printed on its own sheet before bonding, so the front and back can carry completely different designs. The cut edge shows both stocks as a fine two colour line.
Ordering is straightforward. Pick one of the six ready layouts or upload your own print ready artwork, set your print options and add the order to cart. On the Upload Artwork step you type any layout details and upload a logo where the layout needs one. Our team sets the artwork and emails a PDF proof, and nothing prints until you approve the proof.
You can choose any of 14 stocks for the front and any of 14 stocks for the back, print front only or front and back in CMYK or white ink, and select one of six shapes: Rectangle 55 x 85mm, Square 55 x 55mm, Circle 50mm, Arch 55 x 85mm, Wavy 55 x 85mm or Custom Shape 55 x 85mm. Every tag is hole punched.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes a duplex tag different from a normal swing tag?
A duplex tag joins two card sheets face to face into one heavier tag, giving you a front and back that can be completely different colours and designs. That is the main difference from a normal single sheet swing tag.
How heavy is the finished tag?
Each of the two sheets is 270 to 300 GSM, so the finished tag weighs 540 to 600 GSM.
Can the front and back be different colours?
Yes. You choose one of 14 stocks for the front and one of 14 stocks for the back, giving 196 possible pairings. Pairing ideas include a white Matte front over a Navy, Black or Forest Green back, Kraft with Forest Green, and Blush with Burgundy.
Can I print a different design on each side?
Yes. You can choose front only or front and back printing in CMYK or white ink, and each side can carry its own artwork.
How does text read on the dark stocks?
White ink keeps light type and fine detail readable on the dark and strong colour stocks. The page offers the printing options that suit the back stock you choose.
Do the tags come hole punched?
Every tag is hole punched, with the hole at the top in portrait orientation.
Can I get foil or laminate on duplex tags?
Foil and laminate are not available on duplex tags. The Swing Tags page offers those options on single sheet tags.
What shapes and sizes are available?
Rectangle 55 x 85mm, Square 55 x 55mm, Circle 50mm, Arch 55 x 85mm, Wavy 55 x 85mm and Custom Shape 55 x 85mm. Circle, Arch, Wavy and Custom Shape add $30 per order, and Square costs the same as Rectangle.
Do I get a proof before printing?
Yes. A PDF proof is emailed for your approval before any printing starts.
How long does production and delivery take, and what does delivery cost?
Production takes 3 to 5 working days after you approve the design proof. Standard delivery is $10 per order, express delivery is $15 per order, and free pickup is available from Oakleigh South.

What a duplex swing tag is
Duplex swing tags are built from two separate sheets of card bonded face to face, so the pair lands at 540 to 600 GSM. Each side goes through the press before the sheets are joined, which lets the front and back carry different artwork. A fine two colour line runs along the cut edge, and the extra heft is what makes thick swing tags feel weightier in the hand than a single sheet tag.
Stocks and printing options
The same 14 stocks are available for each face, so any front can be paired with any back, giving 196 possible combinations for two tone swing tags.
- Whites and textures: 300 GSM Matte, 300 GSM Linen, 300 GSM Metallic
- Natural: 290 GSM Kraft
- Darks: 270 GSM Navy, 270 GSM Black

For custom hang tags and hang tags for clothing, six ready layouts are available.
- Thank you tag layout: front carries Thank you in script and the business name; back carries THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING SMALL and a With love sign off.
- Logo tag layout: front carries the logo and business name; back carries a short message or website. The buyer uploads the logo.
- Brand and price tag layout: front carries the logo and business name; back carries STYLE, SIZE, COLOUR and PRICE lines written on by hand. The buyer uploads the logo.
- Care instructions tag layout: front carries the business name; back carries a CARE NOTES heading and four care lines the buyer types.
- Gift tag layout: front carries A little something in script; back carries TO and FROM lines written on by hand.
- Sale tag layout: front carries SALE, the percentage the buyer types and OFF; back carries WAS and NOW price lines written on by hand.
The buyer types the details into the Thank you, Logo, Brand and price, Care instructions and Sale layouts, and uploads a logo where the layout has one. The Brand and price, Gift and Sale layouts leave lines to be written on by hand, and the Gift tag layout needs nothing typed at all.
The Logo tag layout and the Brand and price tag layout include our designer placing the logo for a $15 set-up per order.
How ordering, artwork and design work
Ordering starts when you pick a layout or upload your own artwork, set the tag options and add the order to cart. On the Upload Artwork step you type the layout details and upload a logo where the layout has one. We set the file and email a PDF proof, and no printing begins until you approve it. Upload my own artwork accepts a print ready PDF or a high resolution image for the front and back, checked by our team at the proof stage. Custom design means a Paperlust designer creates the tag from your brief and logo. You receive two design options on the first proof and three rounds of revisions for a one off design fee of $49.90. Prices, production and delivery
Prices include GST and cover Rectangle 55 x 85mm tags on 300 GSM Matte front and back with front only CMYK ink and a typed layout or own artwork. 50 tags cost $120.20, 100 cost $184, 250 cost $324, 500 cost $480 and 1,000 cost $719. Printing front and back with CMYK ink costs $194 for 100 tags, and the same tag with a coloured back stock such as 290 GSM Kraft costs $204 for 100. The configurator prices every other combination. Production takes 3 to 5 working days after the design proof is approved. Standard delivery is $10 per order, express delivery is $15 per order, and pickup is free from our facility at 23 Manton Road, Oakleigh South VIC 3167.
