Frequently Asked Questions
What image resolution do I need for a sharp print?
For A4 and A3 sizes, a file at 300 dpi gives excellent results. For A2, use the highest resolution file you have available. As a practical guide, a photo taken on a modern smartphone is usually sufficient for A4 and A3. If you are printing from a low-resolution source such as an older digital file or a heavily compressed image, the printed result will reflect that quality, so it is worth sending us your best available file.
What sizes are available?
We offer three standard sizes: A4 (21x29.7cm) at $79, A3 (29.7x42cm) at $129, and A2 (42x59.4cm) at $179. All sizes are available in portrait or landscape orientation. A flat $15 framed shipping fee is added at checkout.
Which frame colour should I choose?
Black works well in modern and minimalist spaces and pairs particularly well with monochrome or high-contrast images. White suits lighter, coastal or Scandinavian-style interiors and is a popular choice for family portraits. Natural Oak brings warmth to the piece and complements timber furniture and earthy colour palettes. If your space has a neutral or mixed palette, Natural Oak is often the most versatile option.
Why plexiglass instead of glass?
Plexiglass is shatterproof, which makes it significantly safer in transit and in the home, particularly in households with children or pets. It is also lighter than standard glass, which makes large formats like A2 easier to handle and hang. The optical clarity of our plexiglass is comparable to standard glass, so there is no visible difference in how your image looks once the frame is on the wall or on a shelf.
Can the frame hang on a wall and also stand on a shelf?
Yes. Every Paperlust framed print includes a fold-out stand on the back for tabletop or shelf display, and pre-fitted hanging hardware for wall mounting. Both options are available for all three sizes. You do not need to purchase anything separately to use either display method.
How much does shipping cost and how long will my order take?
A flat $15 framed shipping fee applies to all orders, Australia-wide. A4 frames are made in Australia and are typically dispatched within 6-7 days. A3 and A2 frames are made to order at our New Zealand facility, so allow a little longer, approximately 10-13 days to dispatch.
Can I print my own photo or personal artwork?
Yes. You can upload any photo, illustration, digital artwork or file you own the rights to. The process is the same whether you are printing a family photo, a piece of art you have created, a travel photograph or a design you have purchased. Please ensure you have the rights to print any image you upload.
What happens if my frame arrives damaged in transit?
If your frame arrives damaged as a result of transit, we will reprint and reship your order at no cost to you. Please contact us promptly and include a photo of the damage so we can process your replacement quickly.

What goes into every frame
The frame itself is solid wood, not composite or MDF, finished in your choice of Black, White or Natural Oak. The glazing is plexiglass: shatterproof, lightweight and far safer to ship than standard glass. Behind the glazing, your image is printed on 170gsm matte fine-art paper, which gives a soft, non-reflective surface that suits photography, illustrations and artwork equally well. Portrait and landscape orientations are both available.
Hang it or stand it, your choice
Every Paperlust framed print arrives with two display options built in. A fold-out stand on the back lets you stand the frame on a shelf, desk, dining sideboard or bedside table. Flip it over and the pre-fitted hanging hardware means it is wall-ready straight out of the box. There is no need to buy a separate stand, source extra hardware or make two trips to the hardware store. This dual hang-or-stand capability is included as standard across A4, A3 and A2.
Choosing between Black, White and Natural Oak

The ordering process is straightforward. Upload your file, select your size, frame colour and orientation, then place your order. For best results, upload a high-resolution file: a JPEG, PNG or PDF at 300 dpi is ideal for A4 and A3, and as large a file as you have available for A2. Avoid upscaling low-resolution files, as the printed result will reflect the original image quality. If you are unsure whether your file is suitable, you are welcome to contact us before ordering.
Caring for your frame, and giving one as a gift
Plexiglass glazing is easy to clean: a soft, dry cloth or a slightly damp microfibre cloth removes dust and fingerprints without scratching. Avoid abrasive cleaners or paper towels. Keeping the frame out of direct sunlight will preserve the print over time.
