Frequently Asked Questions
What size is a standard menu?
The order form lists A3, A4, A5 and DL as sheet sizes. A3 is 297 x 420 mm, A4 is 210 x 297 mm, A5 is 148 x 210 mm and DL is 99 x 210 mm.
How many can you order?
The form starts at 10 and offers 50, 100, 250, 500, 1,000, 2,500, 5,000 or 10,000. There are no quantities between those steps. For a job the form does not cover, use Get Custom Quote.
How do I set up the file?
Use a PDF in CMYK with 3mm bleed. Keep important text and graphics at least 3mm inside the trim edge, and make borders at least 5mm thick. For folded menus, lay the sheet out open, front and back, and place each fold line as a MAGENTA spot mark on its own layer. The standard menus specification sits in the Artwork Guidelines tab.
What happens from upload to print?
Upload the file in the cart before checkout. Files up to 20MB upload directly. For a larger file, email printshop@paperlust.co with a link to the file, using Google Drive or Dropbox. Each uploaded file is reviewed, and a digital proof is emailed within 1 to 2 business days of the order. After you approve the proof, the job goes to print.
What help is available for design?
Artwork Fix works on a PDF or SVG you can edit. It can rescale, trim, recolor, add or move text, logos and images, fix layout, and remove a background. It adds 1 working day before the proof. Custom Design uses a dedicated designer. It offers 2 design options and 3 revision rounds. It adds 2 working days before the proof.
How much do 50 flat A3 standard menus cost?
Fifty flat A3 standard menus cost $150.92 in total, which is $3.01 each. This price includes GST and is based on the default selection, Material: 300 GSM Matte, Fold Option: Flat, Laminate: None. Standard delivery is $10 per order, Australia-wide.

Custom printed menus
Standard menus are custom printed menus for cafes, restaurants, bars and events. They are full-colour menus printed on paper, and they use a digital colour print. A single order form gives flat or folded menus in 10 finished sizes, on 2 papers, with 3 laminate choices. The four choices are the paper, the style, the finished size and the laminate.

Cafe and restaurant options
For cafe menu printing, Flat A4 is for everyday cafe menus, and A5 Bifold is for small cafe menus with a front cover and an inside spread. For restaurant menu printing, 300 GSM Matte is for frequently handled menus in cafes, bars, restaurants and formal dining, and Flat A3 is for large restaurant menus with room for detailed listings. Gloss laminate is for high-traffic cafes and restaurants wanting a polished look. Flat A5 is a compact table menu, Flat DL is a narrow table footprint, and Double Gatefold is a narrow size with a small table footprint.
Flat and folded formats
Choose Flat and the menu is a single uncreased sheet, available in Flat A3, Flat A4, Flat A5 and Flat DL. Choose Folded and the sheet opens into panels, limited to the six folded formats below, which cover bifold, gatefold, z-fold and c-fold.

Paper stocks and laminate
The two papers are 300 GSM Matte and 170 GSM Silk, and both are sold in all 10 finished sizes. The 300 GSM Matte paper is the heavier stock, with a smooth flat finish. The 170 gsm Silk is the lighter stock, bright white with a gentle sheen.
The laminate choices are None, Matte laminate and Gloss laminate. None leaves the print uncoated. Matte laminate adds a flat, low-glare coating. Gloss laminate adds a shiny coating, and printed colours look deeper and brighter under it. A laminated choice is sold with 300 GSM Matte only.
Other range products
Foil, white ink and die cutting are not choices on this form. Diecut menus have a die cut. Foil menus have metallic foil added. White ink menus use white ink on coloured paper stocks.
The coasters are printed beermat board.
The counter cards are self-supporting printed signs for a counter, desk or table.
The Restaurants and Cafe range includes standard, diecut, foil and white ink menus, plus coasters.
When menus go to every table, venues often add table talkers as well, so a special or a QR link faces guests on either side.
