Die Cut Business Cards
Die cut business cards are cut with a die to a shape other than a rectangle. Choose your own custom outline within 90 x 55mm, or order a 90 x 50mm oval. Every card is printed digital CMYK on 300 GSM stock, then cut to the shape you approved.
These cards suit a business whose logo, product or trade has a recognisable outline. An interiors studio might order an arch, while a builder might order a house shape. The result looks different from every rectangle it is handed out with.
To order, choose the shape, the paper and one or both sides, upload artwork with the dieline for a custom shape, approve the emailed proof, then it prints and is cut.

Which outlines cut badly?
Outlines with parts narrower than 5mm tend to bend and crease with handling, so round those parts off or leave them out. Keep text and logos at least 4mm inside the cut line.
Why does a shaped card cost more than a rectangle card?
A shaped card costs $30 more per order than the same run of standard rectangle cards at every quantity. The charge is per order, not per card, so the gap per card shrinks as the run grows.
How much do 50 and 250 cards cost?
On 300 GSM Matte front only, 50 die cut business cards cost $57.20 inc GST and 250 cost $114 inc GST. Front and back printing on 300 GSM Matte is $61.20 for 50 cards and $119 for 250 cards.
What papers are available and are any laminated?
You can choose 300 GSM Matte, 300 GSM Linen, 300 GSM Cotton or 300 GSM Metallic. None of the papers on this page is laminated.
Can I print on both sides?
Yes. Every stock can be ordered front only or front and back, and both sides take independent artwork.
How long does production take, and what is the minimum order and delivery cost?
The die cutting pass adds 1 to 2 business days to production, and your proof is sent within 1 to 2 business days. The minimum order is 50 cards, with quantity rungs running to 5,000. Start with the shape
This page sells shaped business cards only. The standard Australian business card is a 90 x 55mm rectangle, available on the standard business cards page. Custom shape business cards use your own clean closed outline, which must fit within 90 x 55mm. Oval business cards are cut as a 90 x 50mm oval. Common custom outlines include arches, logo silhouettes, product outlines, house shapes, bottle shapes and geometric forms.
Match the paper to the design
Every stock on this page is supplied with no laminate, and you can order front only or front and back on any of the four.
- 300 GSM Matte: a smooth, low glare finish on bright white that suits minimalist designs.
- 300 GSM Linen: a premium visible linen texture on ultra white that suits elegant logos and serif type.
- 300 GSM Cotton: a luxe off white cotton blend with a soft, tactile finish, uncoated.
- 300 GSM Metallic: a subtle shimmer that lifts simple designs and works best with bold contrast.
Design the outline to cut cleanly
Design the custom outline as a clean closed path. Keep every part at least 5mm wide, because narrower sections bend and crease with handling. Put text and logos at least 4mm inside the cut line. A custom outline may not sit neatly in every standard cardholder. If you want a 60mm circle, order round business cards.

For a custom shape, supply the cut outline as a vector dieline on its own layer in the artwork file. If you do not have a dieline yet, describe the shape and the design team can create one for a complex shape. An oval needs no dieline because the oval die is a standard shape. Build the artwork with 3mm bleed beyond the cut line. Vector artwork is preferred, with fonts outlined, and photographs should be at least 300 dpi at print size. CMYK colour space is recommended where possible. The final proof is emailed to you and nothing prints until it is approved. The cards are printed in Oakleigh South, Victoria.
