Custom Beer and Spirit Labels

Custom printed beer and spirit bottle labels on rolls, supplied in five shapes on White Synthetic, White Cast Paper or Clear Synthetic film. Breweries, distilleries and drinks producers use them for bottles, cans and cap seals, with every label printed one up and die cut to shape on rolls of 500.

Choose the shape, size, stock, finish and how many designs you need, upload your artwork, and approve the emailed proof. Nothing prints until you approve that proof, and the labels are ready for hand application and labelling machines.

Specification

Supplied on rolls, one-up, 500 labels per roll, ready for hand application and for semi-automatic or automatic label applicators. The unwind direction can be requested at proofing.

Stocks: white cast paper or white synthetic film, each with matte or gloss laminate. Clear synthetic film with a gloss varnish.

  • For custom size enquiry, please contact printshop@paperlust.co
  • Waterproof white synthetic: White Synthetic with Matte or Gloss Laminate is waterproof and made for condensation, ice buckets, splashes and outdoor exposure when covered by the laminate.
  • Permanent emulsion adhesive: A permanent emulsion acrylic adhesive sticks to glass, plastic, metal and treated surfaces.
  • No label look: Clear Synthetic with Gloss Varnish disappears on glass and coloured containers for a no label look.
  • Matte and gloss laminate: Both laminate finishes add a clear protective layer over the printed surface, so moisture, oils, cleaning agents and handling do not mark the label.
  • Gloss face stock: The white synthetic film has a gloss face stock and a permanent emulsion acrylic adhesive rated for service temperatures of minus 20 degrees Celsius to 80 degrees Celsius.
  • Single sided print: Printed on one side only and supplied on rolls ready for hand application and labelling machines, each die cut label peels cleanly.
  • Die cut shapes: Each roll label is printed one up and die cut to shape for bottle bodies, cans, neck bands and cap seals.
Frequently Asked Questions
What size should a beer bottle label be?

A slim 330 ml beer bottle face usually takes a 50 x 100 mm label. A taller spirit bottle face usually takes 70 x 120 mm or 100 x 150 mm. A cap or neck seal is usually a 30 mm or 40 mm circle.

How much do 500 beer labels cost?

A 50 x 100 mm rectangle on White Synthetic with Matte Laminate costs $216.83 for 500 labels, or $0.43 each, including GST. Other sizes and stocks are priced as they are selected on the page.

What is the minimum order for custom beer labels?

The minimum order is one roll of 500 labels per size. The quantity ladder runs from 500 to 5,000 in steps of 500.

Are the labels waterproof and do they survive a chilled bottle or an ice bucket?

White Synthetic with Matte or Gloss Laminate is waterproof and made for condensation, ice buckets, splashes and outdoor exposure when covered by the laminate. The film does not bubble or peel on wet packaging the way paper can. White Cast Paper is not water resistant.

Which stock suits brown or green glass?

Clear Synthetic with Gloss Varnish is designed for the no label look on glass and coloured containers. Colours appear slightly lighter than on white stock, and white ink underprinting is available for full opacity or white text elements.

Can several designs go on one order?

Yes. Up to five different designs can be printed on one order, with each design on its own roll.

Can you print a cap or neck seal?

Yes. A cap or neck seal is a small circle, usually 30 mm or 40 mm, supplied on rolls of 500 ready for hand application and labelling machines.

How fast are the labels printed?

A final design proof is emailed before anything prints. Once you approve the proof, production is 48 hours, printed in Melbourne.

Is a proof sent before printing?

Yes. A final design proof is emailed before anything prints, and printing starts only once the proof is approved.

What does delivery cost?

Standard delivery is $10 per order and express delivery is $15 per order, Australia wide.

Beer bottle labels on a roll for bottle, can and cap work

Every label on this page is a roll label printed one up and die cut to shape, supplied on rolls of 500 for bottle bodies, cans, neck bands and cap seals. The page groups beer labels and spirit bottle labels on White Synthetic, White Cast Paper and Clear Synthetic. For a wine range, the wine labels page is the sibling option.

Sizes and which label does which job

Size choices for custom beer labels work from the shapes below.

  • Rectangle 50 x 100 mm suits a slim 330 ml beer bottle face.
  • Rectangle 70 x 120 mm and 100 x 150 mm suit a taller spirit bottle face.
  • Rectangle 100 x 150 mm works as a can wrap style panel.
  • A cap or neck seal is a small circle: 30 mm or 40 mm on the circle labels page.

Rectangle, oval, rounded corner, circle and custom die cut shapes cover the full size set from 25 mm to 200 mm.

Choosing the stock for wet, dry and glass bottles

White Synthetic with Matte or Gloss Laminate suits anything chilled or wet, including condensation and ice buckets. White Cast Paper is a cost effective stock for dry shelves and gift bottles. For brown or green glass, Clear Synthetic with Gloss Varnish gives the no label look; colours appear slightly lighter than on white stock, and white ink underprinting is available. Clear Synthetic is available on circle, rectangle, rounded corner and custom die cut labels. Oval labels are offered on the white stocks only. See the clear labels page for transparent film details.

Artwork, proofing and printing

Upload print ready artwork or use the design service on this page. Every order gets a free design review and file check, and you supply all wording that has to appear on the label. A final design proof is emailed before anything prints, and printing starts only once you approve the proof. Production is 48 hours after approval, printed in Melbourne. Artwork needs a 3 mm bleed, printed on HP Indigo digital CMYK with Pantone matching available.

Where the rest of the label range fits

For fewer than 500 labels, or for a sheet format instead of a roll, order the sticker version of the same shape instead. If you need spirit bottle labels and the rest of the range on white synthetic, the waterproof vinyl labels page carries every shape on that waterproof stock.
