Matching real estate a-frame and flyers
Does a real estate agent need their licence number on a business card?
No single rule covers Australia. In New South Wales the Act does not prescribe a licence number, but Fair Trading and REINSW guidance says an agent using a nickname or shortened name should display the licence or certificate number beside that name. Victoria publishes no card-number rule; a licensee who prints one copies it from the Business Licensing Authority register. Queensland is silent on card numbers, so copy any number exactly from the certificate if you use one. When unsure, check with your state or territory fair trading office.
What should a real estate agent put on a business card?
Start with your name and the title your state regulator permits: Licensed Real Estate Agent, Sales Representative, Agent's Representative or Property Manager. Then add the agency name and office, your mobile and email, and any state licensing wording. A QR code for an appraisal booking or current listings helps where the design has room. Keep every title and number inside what your own certificate gives you.
Can an agent's representative write Licensed Estate Agent?
No. In Victoria only a licensee may use Licensed Estate Agent. A licensee who prints a number must match the Business Licensing Authority register. Pretending to be licensed is an offence. An agent's representative writes Agent's Representative with the employing agency. They never claim the words Licensed Estate Agent. They also never use the employer's licence number as their own. Use only the wording your own certificate or registration gives you.
What should a property manager's card show?
Lead with the name you trade under, then Property Manager where your certificate permits it. Add the agency name and office, your mobile and email, and the state-required licensing wording. A QR code can point to a maintenance request, an inspection booking or current listings if the design leaves room for one.
Which card suits a real estate agency, a property manager or a buyer's agent?
Most agencies and property managers start with Standard Business Cards because the 90 x 55 mm layout stays readable across a team. A boutique agency or project marketing brand often moves to Coloured Paper Business Cards for a matte coloured stock. A buyer's agent or agency principal who wants a more distinctive finish may choose Flat Foil Business Cards. A layout started on Standard Business Cards can also be produced on Rounded Corner Business Cards and Recycled Business Cards.
How do you order a ready design?
Pick a ready design and it opens on the product page with the print options already selected. After you add the card to cart, enter your name, agency, phone, email and any licence, registration or certificate number your state asks for. We set those details into the design and send a free PDF proof within 1 to 2 business days. Nothing prints until you approve that proof.

What real estate business cards should show
Vendors and landlords scan for the name, the title, the agency and the fastest way to reach you. That order works across most real estate business cards, from residential sales to property management.
- Your name and the title your state regulator permits: Licensed Real Estate Agent, Sales Representative, Agent's Representative, Property Manager.
- The agency name and office.
- Your mobile and email.
- The licensing wording your state requires, and any number copied exactly from the official record if you print one.
- A QR code for an appraisal booking or current listings, where a design leaves room for one.
The name, title and number rules to get right
For real estate agent business cards, the rules about names and numbers come from the state you trade in, not from a national standard. Use only the title your own certificate or state registration gives you.
New South Wales: every advertisement connected with the business needs to show the licensee's name or registered business name. The Act does not prescribe a licence number, but Fair Trading and REINSW guidance says an agent who works under a nickname or shortened name should place the licence or certificate of registration number beside that name. Assistant agents hold a certificate of registration. Accredited Auctioneer is available only while the accreditation is current, on a class 1 or class 2 licence, and assistant agents cannot hold it.
Victoria: Victoria publishes no card-number rule. Only a licensee may write Licensed Estate Agent. A licensee who prints a number must match the Business Licensing Authority register. Pretending to be licensed is an offence. An agent's representative writes Agent's Representative with the employing agency. They never claim the words Licensed Estate Agent. They also never use the employer's licence number as their own. Victoria has no auctioneer number; auctioneer is a job description.
Queensland: Queensland is silent on card numbers. A real estate agent holds a licence, a salesperson holds a registration certificate, and any number you choose to print should be copied exactly from the certificate. Auctioning real property needs a separate auctioneer licence; the agent licence alone is not enough.
Western Australia: advertising must identify the agent. Consumer Protection's minimum is the registered business name endorsed on the triennial certificate plus the office phone number. The licence or triennial certificate number is not a published advertising requirement.
South Australia: the titles are Registered Land Agent and Sales Representative. Registration is digital and no number requirement was found.
Tasmania: the agency trades under the agent's own name, the partners' names, or a name the Property Agents Board has authorised. No number rule was found.
Industry bodies such as REIA, REINSW, REIV, REIQ, REIWA, REISA and REBAA are membership bodies, not regulators. Use their logo only under the body's brand rules and while your membership is current. REALTOR is the United States National Association of REALTORS trade mark for its members, so the Australian wording is Real Estate Agent.
On ABNs, ASIC does not require a company to print its ACN or ABN on a business card, and no rule was found requiring a sole trader to print an ABN on one. The ATO still calls showing it on stationery a good idea, and it belongs on invoices and other supply documents.
If the rules above do not cover your situation, check with your state or territory fair trading or consumer affairs office before you print.
Choosing the card that suits the work
Most of the ready designs on this page sit on Standard Business Cards: 90 x 55 mm on 300 GSM Matte, Linen, Cotton or Metallic with no laminate on those four, or 450 GSM Artboard with Velvet Laminate, front only or front and back. That clean rectangle suits an agency team, property manager or buyer's advocate who needs the name, office and mobile easy to read. A layout started on the Standard card can also be produced on Rounded Corner Business Cards and Recycled Business Cards.
Coloured Paper Business Cards use coloured cardstock printed in CMYK or white ink, from 270 GSM Black or Navy and 290 GSM Kraft through to 300 GSM Forest Green, Hunter Green, Burgundy, Cream and more. Boutique agencies, project marketing teams and rural or lifestyle brands often choose this for a matte colour behind the type. Where a design is built around a coloured stock, the ink colour stays tied to the colourway you pick, and every design shows its front and back.
Flat Foil Business Cards carry mirror-bright foil sitting level with the card surface on one side, in gold, silver, rose gold, copper or holographic. They suit a listing agent or agency principal who wants a more considered finish. Many layouts created for a finish or stock also have a flat Standard edition on Standard Business Cards.
The page also carries a smaller group on Raised Foil, Spot UV and Recycled Business Cards for work where texture is part of the message.
How a ready design becomes your card
Pick a ready design and the gallery opens it on the product page with the print options already selected. You can keep those settings or swap shape, corners or orientation; we rework the layout in-house at no charge and show the result on your proof. Add to cart, type your own details, and we email a free PDF proof within 1 to 2 business days. Nothing prints until you approve it. Each product page shows its current production time, and printing starts after your approval. Ready designs carry no set-up charge. Browse other business card designs for other trades.
Matching the rest of your print to the card
Carry the same wording from the card across the campaign. Put an A-frame from the real estate signs range at the kerb on open home and auction days, and keep flyers for the letterbox ready for a just-listed or appraisal drop. The real estate agent print toolkit steps through the full set, from signboards to open-home checklists.
PROOF FIRST, PRINTED IN MELBOURNE
Every ready design comes with a free PDF proof, and nothing goes to press until you approve it. Check the name, property management title, office address and state wording before you sign off.
Your cards are printed in Melbourne, and a ready design carries no set-up charge, so the proof is the only step between you and a finished run.
