What should a personal trainer put on a business card?
Start with the details someone needs in the moment they meet you: your name, what you coach, phone number, a booking link or QR code, and where you train. Add your qualification plainly, such as Certificate IV in Fitness, plus any voluntary registration line like AUSactive Registered Personal Trainer. Keep class times, a timetable QR code or Instagram on the back when a design has a back panel.
Does a personal trainer need a licence or registration number on the card?
No occupational licence applies to personal trainers or to gym, yoga and Pilates teachers. Do not print or invent a licence number. AUSactive registration is voluntary, and a registered personal trainer may show AUSactive Registered Personal Trainer with the number exactly as it appears on the certificate. For accredited exercise physiologists, ESSA accreditation is the line to show, and no Ahpra number applies.
Can a Pilates instructor call themselves a physio?
No. Physiotherapist, chiropractor, osteopath and podiatrist are protected titles under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law. Only a registered practitioner may use them. A Pilates instructor or personal trainer should describe their work as rehab-informed training if that is the service they actually provide, and should not use physio on the card.
Which card suits a trainer, a yoga teacher or a gym?
Standard Business Cards suit a trainer or run coach who hands out a clean 90 x 55 mm card in person. Coloured Paper Business Cards give yoga studios and gyms a coloured stock such as Kraft, Black, Navy or Forest Green. Flat Foil Business Cards lift a coaching package or signature service with gold, silver, rose gold, copper or holographic foil on one side. Many designs made for Standard also print on Rounded Corner and Recycled cards.
How can a card turn a free session into regular bookings?
Make the next step specific. Put a QR code straight to a booking link, a first-session offer or a class timetable, and keep the phone number visible for people who would rather call. A card that says what you coach and where you train, plus a clear reason to book, gives the free session somewhere to lead.
How does ordering a ready design work?
Choose a design in the gallery and it opens on that card's product page with the recommended settings selected. You can change any option, then type your details into the Upload Artwork step. We arrange those details in the artwork and send a PDF proof within 1 to 2 business days. Nothing goes to print without your approval, and there is no layout fee for a ready design.

What a personal trainer business card should show
Most personal trainer business cards get read between sets, not at a desk. Put the details in the order someone actually scans them: who you are, what you offer, and how to book.
- Your name and what you coach, from personal training, Pilates and yoga to run coaching
- Phone number plus a booking link or QR code
- Your qualification and any registration written plainly, such as Certificate IV in Fitness
- Where you train: a gym, a studio, a park, home visits or online
- Class times or a timetable QR code
- Instagram handle or a review link
Credentials to print and claims to avoid
There is no occupational licence for personal trainers, gym or group instructors, yoga teachers or Pilates teachers. The national training package for the Certificate IV in Fitness states that no occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply, so personal trainer business cards should not carry a made-up licence number.
Write the qualification as Cert IV in Fitness, not the course code. AUSactive registration is voluntary; a registered trainer may print AUSactive Registered Personal Trainer with the number exactly as it appears on the certificate.
Accredited exercise physiologists sit outside the Ahpra register. An AEP carries ESSA accreditation on the card and no Ahpra number. Only registered practitioners may use the titles physiotherapist, chiropractor, osteopath or podiatrist, so a trainer or Pilates card says rehab-informed training, never physio.
Do not print a kilos-lost figure, a guaranteed result or any outcome claim that lacks a reasonable basis under Australian Consumer Law. Say no lock-in contract only when the offer is genuinely free of one. Trainers who coach children should show Working with Children Check held, or the number exactly as issued: New South Wales calls it a WWC clearance, Queensland a blue card, and Victoria a WWC Check.
ASIC and the ATO do not require a sole trader to print an ABN on a business card, and companies are not required to show an ACN here.
Choosing the card for your coaching style
Fitness business cards work hardest in the moment they are handed over. A trainer on a gym floor needs a different stock from a yoga teacher leaving a card at a studio counter. Each ready design includes several colourways and displays the front and back together.
Most designs in this category are made for Standard Business Cards. The card is 90 x 55 mm and comes in 300 GSM Matte, Linen, Cotton or Metallic, or 450 GSM Artboard with Velvet Laminate, with front only or front and back available. The four 300 GSM stocks have no laminate.
Coloured Paper Business Cards suit gyms, yoga studios and outdoor trainers that want the card itself to carry colour. Stock choices include 270 GSM Black or Navy, 290 GSM Kraft, and 300 GSM Forest Green, Hunter Green, Burgundy, Cream and more, printed in CMYK or white ink.
For a coaching package or a trainer who wants a sharper first impression, Flat Foil Business Cards put mirror-bright gold, silver, rose gold, copper or holographic foil on one side, sitting level with the surface.
A design created for Standard Business Cards can also be ordered on Rounded Corner Business Cards and Recycled Business Cards. If a design depends on foil, spot UV, Scodix, duplex or coloured paper, it remains exclusive to that card type. Many of those variants, however, can still be ordered as a flat Standard version with the same front and back layout.
From a ready design to your approved proof
Choose a design and it opens on the card page with the recommended settings selected. You can change any option, including shape, orientation or paper. We adapt the layout in-house at no charge, and on coloured stock the ink remains tied to the colourway. The Upload Artwork step asks for your name, business name, phone, email and any registration, WWC or ABN detail. We place those details in the artwork and send a free PDF proof within 1 to 2 business days. Production starts only after you approve it. Each card's product page shows its current production time. A ready design carries no layout fee. Need changes to the design itself or a card built around your own logo? Custom Design includes two options on the first proof and three revision rounds. Browse other industries from the business card designs hub.
Matching print for noticeboards and first sessions
A personal trainer card rarely works alone. Class timetable flyers can carry the weekly schedule on a gym or cafe noticeboard, while printed gift vouchers give you an easy offer for a first session or a ten-class pack. Our fitness print marketing guide steps through the print pieces to prepare before a launch or a new class block. Keep the same paper or colourway across them and the stack feels like one brand.
YOUR PROOF COMES FIRST
You receive a PDF proof by email and nothing prints until you approve it, so a wrong phone number or a rushed detail is caught before a client ever sees it.
All cards are printed in Melbourne. Because a ready design carries no set-up charge, you pay only for the printed card.
